A company-owned workforce platform built from scratch and used daily by 150+ employees: web and Android/iOS apps, facial-detection kiosk check-in with kiosk tablet management, shift and rest checks, project management, HR and payroll reports, an AI agent with human-in-the-loop workflows and a digital fire register.

Context

I built this platform at Moffett Automation, where I work as a Robotics & AI Software Engineer. It is an internal tool used inside Moffett, and one of the three systems I have in production.

What the platform does: a company-owned workforce management and time-tracking platform, built from scratch because off-the-shelf tools could not accommodate the requirements. 150+ employees use it daily. It has Android and iOS apps and a kiosk check-in that uses facial detection, checks for shift inconsistencies, excessive working periods and missing rest intervals, an AI agent that guides users, resource requests from the app and a digital fire register.

Discovery

I owned the platform end to end: requirements discovery with each department, design, implementation, deployment and ongoing support, building department-specific rules and operational edge cases into it.

How it works:

  • Android and iOS apps and a kiosk check-in with facial detection feed the workforce management and time-tracking system.
  • Checks run on the time-tracking data and flag shift inconsistencies, excessive working periods and missing rest intervals.
  • An AI agent guides users, performs in-app actions and generates reports through human-in-the-loop workflows.
  • A digital fire register uses real-time attendance data to identify missing employees and support emergency workflows.
  • Staff can manage and request the resources they need from the app.

Rollout

  1. Status: in production. I built it from scratch in a matter of months, working alone on it and coordinating the IT teams to deploy it and keep it updated, secure and ready for easy rollout at company sites. It is being rolled out gradually to the factories where company staff work.

Impact

150+ employees use it daily, and it currently supports up to 400+ users.
